🧠 Mnemonics

Make every character stick with a vivid memory hook. Each word links its shape, its sound and its meaning into one little picture — then test yourself with recall mode.

How the method works

A mnemonic turns an abstract character into something concrete and visual. For each word we combine three clues:

  1. Radical & components — break the character into its parts (e.g. woman + child = good).
  2. Sound hook — tie the pinyin to an English word or the tone to a gesture, so the reading sticks.
  3. Image story — one short, silly, vivid scene that links the parts to the meaning. The weirder, the more memorable.

Tip: the best mnemonic is the one you invent. Read ours, then write your own on any card — it saves on this device.
